PROPOSED ITINERARY

Jacques Lesch, registered tour guide from Goldenmoon Adventures, will meet clients at their Guesthouse.  Clients will be transported for the day in a small luxury vehicle with all the relevant transport permits. The tour will last 6 - 7 hours and prices include entrance to two venues. Standard tours will include a drive by the Hartebeespoortdam, a stroll through the Chameleon Village flee market, a visit to Lesedi Cultural village and the Lion Park close to Randburg.
.
We will leave early morning and drive to Hartbeespoortdam, surrounded by the majesty of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Early work on the dam began around late 1895. Construction was on and off over the years up until 1923 when a young engineer took over the building of the wall. The Dam was constructed in 1925. The Crocodile and Magalies Rivers lead into the Dam and the capacity is 205 million cubic meters and its shoreline, when full, is about 56km. The Hartbeespoort Dam was built as an irrigation dam for the surrounding agricultural areas. The Dam Wall is the only example of a Roman Triumphal Arch Styled Wall in South Africa.
.

After a stroll through the Chameleon Village flee market we will visit the Lesedi Cultural Village where you will have the chance to interact and learn more about the different African cultures. At the car park you will be welcomed by a vibrant traditional African welcome and a refreshing welcome drink. You will be able to browse the craft market where Ndebele murals decorate the walls & courtyard before attending a multi-visual theatre presentation on the history and origin of the African people.
.

You will be divided into smaller groups and taken on a guided tour of the Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho, Ndebele and Pedi homesteads. After a few drinks in the bar, everybody meets back in the Traditional Dance Boma for The Giant Ingoma - song and dance of all five villages. The dance culminates in communal dancing with the guests around the fire. We will then enjoy a Pan African Feast served in the Nyama Choma restaurant with delicacies from North, East and South Africa.
.

From here we will drive a short distance to our next venue at the Lion Park where you will have the opportunity to go on a guided drive to see and learn more about the wildlife indigenous to Africa . A trip on a safari vehicle with a trained guide will take you into the bushveld where you will see various antelope species, hyena, cheetah and our four lion prides, while learning interesting and amazing facts about the wildlife indigenous to Africa .

You can also take a walk through a fascinating world of Cubs and view various animal species. Here you will have the unique opportunity to play with the lion cubs and to learn about lions from the well-trained guides. Wonderful photo opportunities will capture this rare experience forever. Don’t miss out on this close encounter with these beautiful animals. The feeding platform will also allow you to touch and feed the giraffes at eye level providing guests with a truly magnificent experience.

With this our tour ends and we will return for Pretoria and to your Guesthouse.
